Meet The Team: Say Ciao (Or Hello) To The Hungry Grl Interns!
/One of the hardest things for me to do in the world is ask for help. I like to think I am the definition of Ms. Independent with a very large capital "I" and I will forever and always be able to do everything on my own. Though I am often the first one to help others in my life, for some reason, Hungry Grl has been something I have operated myself (with the exception of close friends here and there and my Content Manager, Mel, who really helped me grow my brand while we studied in Florence).
Anyway, I would like to introduce you all to my team of eight (yes, you read that correctly) interns that will help me maintain and develop my account, create content, and even have a hand in helping me cover Europe! It is an exciting and growing time for my brand, and I couldn't be more thankful to align myself with these food-loving, well, Hungry Grls. So, let’s meet ‘em:
Alicia Barillari
Title: Abroad Content Creation Intern
Location: Studying abroad in Florence, Italy. Originally from East Hanover, NJ.
Favorite Food: Falafel with tzatziki and hummus (huge dip grl) OR coffee and chocolate pb ice cream in a cup.
Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: Hungrygrl has a passion for not only the food but also exploring beyond the plate and working for her means I get the chance to share my absolute love for food while helping to expand the HGBC brand here in Florence, Italy. But I like to see it as eating gelato because this internship requires me to. ;)
Ally Hartman
Title: Content Creator Intern
Location: Senior at University of Pittsburgh. Originally from Lancaster, PA.
Favorite Food: Salmon
Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: Food is most definitely my love language, and following Hungry Grl has not only encouraged my love for food but also inspired me to explore Pittsburgh and branch out more in the city! As a longtime admirer of this brand, I am SUPER honored and pumped to join the team!! I’m looking forward to learning about the behind-the-scenes process and of course, eating

Title: Content Creator Intern
Location: Sophomore at University of Pittsburgh. Originally from 20 minutes south of Scranton, PA.

Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: As a lover of food and photography, social media is a place where I find I can express both interests. Food is something that brings people together and it’s something I’ve always felt passionate about. I come from a Jewish family, where brisket and matzo ball soup make an appearance at every holiday meal and food is never wasted. I pride myself on knowing all the best places to eat in my hometown and the surrounding areas, and I’m working my way toward being able to say the same about Pittsburgh.
Makenna Winner
Title: Content Creator Intern
Location: Senior PR/Advertising major at Duquesne University. Originally from Williamsport, PA.
Favorite Food: Nearly impossible to pick! Depending on the day I’ll say any breakfast food (waffles, pancakes, donuts) orrrrr fresh pita + hummus. But don’t make me choose pls.
Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: I Joined the Hungry Grl team because it lets me celebrate my two favorite things: Pittsburgh and food. Bridging locale and community through food is one of the coolest and most connective things I’ve found with moving to PGH. Being apart of HGBC lets me do that with other girls who are just as stoked about those same things!

Favorite Food: Grapes (special talent: eating entire tub of Costco grapes in one sitting)
Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: I love food: be it cooking it, eating it, or taking pictures of it. I love how it has the ability to bring people together and is the center of events that connect people and build relationships.

Location: Studying abroad in London, England. From Bucks County, PA and attends The University of Pittsburgh
Favorite Food: A good quality Bacon Cheeseburger
Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: I follow and am interning with Hungry Grl because I have a passion and love for food, along with exploring new places, embracing my surroundings, and expressing this love through photography. The HGBC brand is unique and will help me to share my passion and experiences with other food enthusiasts, and of course gives me another excuse to try new food while I’m abroad!
Shannon Butler
Title: Admin & Account Development Intern
Location: Student at University of Pittsburgh. From Philadelphia, PA.
Favorite Food: Tacos/anything Mexican food. I also love a good ol’ eggs benedict at brunch (maybe they need to invent a mexican inspired eggs benedict???).
Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: I decided to work for HGBC to gain experience in the world of social media management from someone who understood my generation and that I could relate to. And also, who doesn’t love food pics?
Shera Naydovich
Title: Admin & Account Development Intern
Location: Junior at University of Pittsburgh. From Bucks County, PA.
Favorite Food: Steak and Sushi (but really I love everything)
Why I Want To Work With Hungry Grl: To be a part of the amazing brand that HungryGirl represents. I love helping people find new places to eat while also reviewing and giving advice. I hope that I can bring smiles to all of the followers of HungryGirl with some of my ideas!
